The 2021–22 season marked Ajax’s 122nd campaign and 66th consecutive year in the Dutch top flight. Led by head coach Erik ten Hag at the Johan Cruyff Arena, the club enjoyed domestic success by winning the Eredivisie title. However, they finished as runners-up in both the KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruyff Shield. In Europe, Ajax advanced to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. Sébastien Haller had a standout season, finishing as the team’s top scorer with 21 league goals and 34 in all competitions.
