The 1993–94 season saw significant changes at Arsenal, including the departure of long-serving player David O’Leary and the signing of Eddie McGoldrick. Arsenal finished 4th in the Premier League, improving from 10th the previous season, and won the European Cup Winners’ Cup by defeating Parma 1–0. However, they were eliminated early in both domestic cups, the FA Cup and League Cup. The club also made moves for Swedish midfielder Stefan Schwarz in the offseason to strengthen their squad for future challenges. Ian Wright was the top scorer with 35 goals.
