The 2014–15 season marked Atlético Madrid’s 84th year in existence and their 78th in La Liga. Under Diego Simeone’s management, the team secured a 3rd-place finish in La Liga, reached the quarter-finals of both the Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League, and won the Supercopa de España. Antoine Griezmann, in his debut season with the club, was the standout player, finishing as the top scorer with 25 goals in all competitions, including 22 in La Liga. The season solidified Atlético’s status among Europe’s top clubs.
