The 2017–18 season was FC Bayern Munich’s 119th overall and 53rd consecutive in the Bundesliga. Bayern competed in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, UEFA Champions League, and the DFL-Supercup. It was their 13th season at the Allianz Arena and the first without long-time captain Philipp Lahm, who retired the previous year.
The club underwent managerial changes early in the season: Carlo Ancelotti was dismissed in September, followed briefly by interim coach Willy Sagnol, before Jupp Heynckes took over in October. Despite the transition, Bayern secured the Bundesliga title, finished as DFB-Pokal runners-up, won the DFL-Supercup, and reached the Champions League semi-finals. Robert Lewandowski was the standout scorer, netting 29 goals in the league and 41 across all competitions.
