The 2023–24 season marked Inter Milan’s 116th year in Italian football’s top division, where they competed in Serie A, the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa Italiana, and the UEFA Champions League. This season saw the departures of key players: Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanović, centre-back Danilo D’Ambrosio, and midfielder Marcelo Brozović. Inter’s Coppa Italia title defense ended in the round of 16 on December 20, losing 1–2 to Bologna after extra time. However, they clinched their third consecutive Supercoppa Italiana on January 22, defeating Lazio and Napoli. In the Champions League, Inter were eliminated in the round of 16 on March 13 by Atlético Madrid, losing 3–2 in a penalty shootout after a 2–2 aggregate draw. Despite these setbacks, Inter secured their 20th Serie A title on April 22, defeating AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina, earning a second star above their badge.
