The 2010–11 season saw Real Madrid finish 2nd in La Liga with 92 points, trailing Barcelona by four. They won the Copa del Rey, defeating Barça 1–0 in the final, but were eliminated in the Champions League semi-finals by the Catalan side. This season featured four El Clásicos in 18 days. Cristiano Ronaldo was the team’s top scorer with 40 goals in La Liga and 53 overall, winning the European Golden Shoe. It was also the first season without Raúl and Guti.
