However, they were runners-up in the Supercopa de España to Barcelona and lost in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals. They reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, where they were eliminated by Bayern Munich. Cristiano Ronaldo set several records, including the fastest to 100 goals in La Liga, and was the top scorer with 60 goals in all competitions.
