In the UEFA Champions League, they reached the semi-finals but were eliminated by Borussia Dortmund. The Copa del Rey ended in heartbreak as they lost to Atlético Madrid in the final. Cristiano Ronaldo was the top scorer, netting 55 goals across all competitions. José Mourinho departed as manager at the end of the season.
