São Paulo finished 6th in the Brazilian league, reached the quarter-finals of both the Copa do Brasil and Copa Libertadores, and made it to the quarter-finals of the Campeonato Paulista. The highlight of the season was winning the Supercopa do Brasil. The team saw managerial changes, with Dorival Júnior, Thiago Carpini, and Milton Cruz all taking charge before Luis Zubeldía took over.
