The 1995–96 season saw AC Milan return to the top of Italian football, winning the Serie A title under the management of Fabio Capello. This was a significant rebound for the club following an unexpected fall from grace in the 1994–95 season. Milan strengthened their attacking options by signing George Weah and Roberto Baggio. While Baggio did not reach the same heights as he did at Juventus, Weah emerged as the club’s top scorer, netting 17 goals across all competitions, with 11 of those coming in Serie A. Despite Baggio’s struggles to replicate his previous form, a strong defensive unit helped secure Milan’s return to glory.
In addition to their league title, Milan made progress in the UEFA Cup and Coppa Italia, reaching the quarter-finals in both competitions. However, following the season’s conclusion, Capello left the club to manage Real Madrid.
