The 2015–16 season was a remarkable one for Juventus, marked by a stunning turnaround, consistent dominance in domestic football, and historical achievements. It was their 118th season in existence, and the club made history by winning their fifth consecutive Serie A title and completing a domestic treble. The team, managed by Massimiliano Allegri, initially struggled but finished the season in style, securing a record-breaking seventh Supercoppa Italiana title by defeating Lazio on 8 August 2015.
The start of the season was challenging, with Juventus winning only three of their first ten league matches and sitting in 12th place by the end of October. However, the team went on a remarkable 25-match unbeaten streak, collecting 73 points from a possible 75. This incredible form allowed Juventus to secure the Serie A title with three games to spare, and they won the league by nine points, despite their earlier struggles.
In addition to the league success, Juventus claimed the Coppa Italia, defeating Milan in the final to secure their 11th title in the competition and their second consecutive double. They also became the first Italian team to complete the domestic treble, winning Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana in the same season.
However, Juventus’ European campaign in the UEFA Champions League was not as successful. They were eliminated in the Round of 16 by Bayern Munich, ending their pursuit of European glory. Despite this, the domestic achievements were more than enough to mark the season as one of the most successful in the club’s history.
Paulo Dybala emerged as the top scorer for Juventus, with 19 goals in Serie A and 23 goals in all competitions, becoming a key figure in the team’s success. This season reinforced Juventus’ status as the dominant force in Italian football.
