The 2013–14 season was Paris Saint-Germain’s 44th in existence and marked a successful first year under new coach Laurent Blanc, who replaced Carlo Ancelotti. The club strengthened their squad with signings like Edinson Cavani, Lucas Digne, and Marquinhos. PSG opened the season with a 2-1 win over Bordeaux to claim the Trophée des Champions.

In Ligue 1, PSG started slowly but surged to the top after Blanc implemented a 4-3-3 system. The team dominated, clinching their second consecutive league title with two games to spare, finishing 1st, and earning their fourth league crown overall. Zlatan Ibrahimović led the way with 26 league goals and 41 across all competitions.

In Europe, PSG topped their Champions League group and reached the quarter-finals for a second straight season but were eliminated by Chelsea on away goals (3-3 aggregate). Domestically, they won the Coupe de la Ligue by defeating Lyon 2-1 in the final, adding a third trophy to their season. However, the Coupe de France was a low point as PSG exited in the Round of 32 to Montpellier.
