The 2023–24 season was a memorable one for Athletic Bilbao, marking their 126th year of existence and their 93rd consecutive season in La Liga. Under the guidance of head coach Ernesto Valverde, they finished 5th in La Liga and achieved a historic milestone by winning the Copa del Rey, their first since 1984. Gorka Guruzeta emerged as the team’s top scorer with 14 league goals and 16 in all competitions, contributing significantly to Bilbao’s success. Matches were played at their iconic San Mamés stadium.
